Macworld Reviews Open Source Antivirus: ClamXav 1.0.1

"If you dont think the virus threat to your Mac is dire enough to spend any money protecting against it, ClamXav will get the job done. Its based on a well-established open source project (clamav), and provides a decent level of protection (thanks in part to daily updates of its virus definitions)." I have used ClamAV on Mac OS X server as a mail gateway product. The company I was with used this and successfully filtered hundreds of thousands of messages with it. More often than not, ClamAV beat Symantec, McAfee and most other commercial vendors to market with definition updates. This is a good OS X front-end to a great open source AV product. -Eric
