Slashdot | A Recipe for Newspaper Survival in the Internet Age

Slashdot | A Recipe for Newspaper Survival in the Internet Age This article sums up not only what I feel the newspaper industry is struggling with but also what pollutes the publishing and media industries in general. This is why I have decided to exit the publishing industry after 10 mostly wonderful years. There will be further details in a future post.

Here's the best quote....

Instead of treating their Web sites like unwelcome stepchildren, newspapers* should turn them into their primary method of news delivery* -- and teach their reporters, editors, and ad sales people how to work effectively with this new -- to them -- medium.

Just substitute "publishers" and "content delivery" for an even better quote.
